God’s command to us as Christians is clear: “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (Luke 18:16)
Introduction
Southwest Michigan Lutheran Schools is a system of schools that has been serving the Southwest Michigan/Northern Indiana area for more than 50 years. They remain consistent to quality, Christ-centered, student-focused education that seeks to prepare children for their lives in Christ.
Are all of the schools the same?
Each of our association schools is run independently by a single church congregation, multiple congregations or a federation of churches in the case of Michigan Lutheran High School. They’ve chosen to join in the Southwest Michigan Lutheran Schools association to share resources and help each school reach out and share the Gospel of Christ with as many children as possible. As such, each school is different in its style and personality. However, the one thing that remains the same at each school is the focus on Christ’s cross for the salvation of the world.
What makes Lutheran education different?
Lutheran schools, like the people who learn and teach in them, aren’t perfect. Yet, the message at Lutheran schools is forgiveness and grace. That Christ, who was perfect because we could not be, died on a cross to atone for all of our sins. Through His Word, which is taught in our schools, the forgiveness, life and salvation that Christ won is brought to each student. This means in all of our classes, the law will be applied in its sternness to students who are disobedient. But it also means the Gospel will be taught in all its sweetness, and forgiveness applied to those students who repent. This makes Lutheran schools great places to grow, not only academically, but spiritually. Learn more about Lutheran Schools around the country.
